The County Contest will be held at Rappahannock High School Home Ec Room on Saturday between 9:30 and 12. The county winners will be selected from 4-H’ers enrolled in home economics projects at that time.
Twentyi-five of 4-H members, families and friends gathered at Davis Lake for a surprise farewell picnic for Ben Weddle, former assistant county agent “Ben” has been appointed county agent of Warren County. A tribute in song sung b 4-H’ers for Mr. Weddle at the picnic expresses the sentiment of all 4-H’ers. Mr. Weddle, Mr. Weddle Listen while we sing You are good at all your work Great at everything. Sperryville I 4-H club organized with following officers elected.
President—Carolyn Brown; Vice President—William Atkins; Secretary—Edna Yates Schaefer; Song leader—Buetch Hicks; Devotional leader—Eugene Attains.
Mrs. Lucia Kilby . entertained Sperryville H. D. at her home on Tuesday, Sept 16. The group enjoyed inexpensive Oven Meals.
F. T. Valley hostess was Mrs. Lester Yates. The group planned for an educational exhibit at the fair. The demonstration was inexpensive and nutritious oven meals.
Woodville H. D. was entertained at the home of Mrs. R. M. Johnson’s Friday morning. The group planned for educational exhibit at the 4-H Fair. Later the group enjoyed the two low cost oven dishes. _
