After the feast there was a pause for a much needed stretch ‘and a loosing of the joints, while Mrs. Hitt sang “The End of A Perfect Day.” The Rev. Paul Bowden, chaplain of - the Warrenton Fire Department, was toastmaster for the evening. He presented Mrs. Graham Hackley, president of the Amissville Auxiliary, who with many a smile, presented to'the firemen, a check foir$500. Fire Chief Charlie Compton accepted the check and thanked the Auxiliary for their constant support of the Fire Com: pany*. - ' ’■ v
Frank Stoutamyer, chief of the Front Royal Fire Department, spoke to the group on the .importance of the Fire Department to the community, and outlined the vorious duties and responsibilities—falling—u po n—the shoulders of its ^members. He emphasized the need for faith in the Department by its members and the community as a whole.
The Rev. Harold Carder of the Amissville Baptist church offered the benediction.
