Conemaugh, Pennsylvania, was killed when his car ran off the shoulder , of the road and struck the bridge abutment on Black Water Greek Bridge, near Scrabble, Tuesday night at 10:30. His , companion, John Lawrence Leroy, also of Conemaugh, escaped with minor cuts and bruises. T
Garrity was driving a 1954 Ply-V mouth Sedan, traveling toward* Culpeper, when the accident occured on the straight stretch of road near Charlie Hawkins’ gate. The road was not wet but there was snow on the shoulders. The car was a total loss. & -Sunday morning at 11:30, < Charles -Edward Grigsby lost control of his car when it skidded on -the wet road, 4 miles west of Amissville, and turned, over Oh its left side. The Washington Rescue Squad was soon on the scene and Grigsby was rushed to the Warren ‘ Memorial Hospital. X-rays'proved his pelvis Broken in 3 places., Several younger boys who were in the car with Grigsby escaped injury. The^damage to the car, a 1935 Ford, was moderate. •Three
persons suffered injuries Monday evening at 5 pan. when .their car ran off the road, near 'Amissville at the intersection of* Routes 211 and 642. fhiving a 1949 Ford Sedan, Vivian Pearl Jenkins of Midland and her ®>mpanioos, William Corder and Russell Wharton were thrown from ' the car when it ran off on the' right shoulder of the road, and then careened across the road and struck a bridge abutment on the left of the highway. >
Corder was admitted to Fauquier County HospitaHn Warrenton with head injuries. The driver/ Jenkins, and Wharton' received cuts and bruises in die accident. .
A third accident-occurcd in the : county, last Tuesday morning at 6:30 when W. Bernam Corbin, driving a ’41 Studebaker, and John Suds, driving i trailer, were. involved in a rear egd collision. The snow which covered the toad was most probably a contributing factor.,No injuries to persons resulted but damage, to the Corbin car was considerable. There was „ t\o damage to the trailer.
