This, week the Missionary! Sodety of Slate Mills Baptist chuifeh is observing W. M. S. Focus Week. On Tuesday two carfuls' of ladies took a birthday party, complete with cake, candles, and ice cream, to the Baptist Home for the twelve residents who are celebrating anniversaries this month. Mrs. W, W. Kennedy, Community Missions Chairman, was in charge of planning this event;
On Thursday, Mrs. George A. Nethers, Mission Study Chairman, is sponsoring a “Brazil Luncheon” at the churth, with appropriate i decorations and refreshments. Mrs. Robert J. Boyd will complete the study course on the book, “Pilgrimage to'’Brazil,” following the luncheon.
Plans for these two events were completed Thursday night at the ' regular monthly meeting of the W. M. S. whidi was held at the home of Mrs'. George W. Thornhill. In spite of the bad weather there were eleven members and two guests present _
