Secure C. D. Tags

State Civil Defense Coordinator, J. H. VVyse, today urged all Virginians to secure their CD identification tags, which are now available to the public. Wyse said his office already has received hundreds of requests for the tags, which were put on sale only a few days ago. Public response, he stated, has been “very encouraging.” |

The stainless steel, necklstetype tag and chain which conform to federal CD specifications, can be obtained by sending the necessary information, along; with 25 cents, to the Office of Civil Defense, Room 20, State Capitol, Richmond.

The tags, which are available to each man, woman and child in the state, would be invaluable in time of an accident or disaster, Wyse pointed out. He said requests received by his office will be pro-, cessed as rapidly as possible.

Wyse also noted th&t with each . 620 tags sold through the State CD Office, a tag imprinter for use in first aid stations, evacuation areas, etc., will be furnished local civil defense organizations. The 25-cent charge is necessary to cover the cost of preparing the tags.

Each request must' be accompanied by the following information : TIRST LINE—Print your pame plainly. Example: John Doc (If full name contains more than 14 letters, use initial or abbreviation for first name.) SECOND LINE—Print name of person,to be notified in an emergency'. Example: John Doe, Sr. THIRD LINE—Print street address or rural route number of person named in 2nd line. FOURTH LINE—Pririt city & state of person named in second line. Example: Richmond, Va. FIFTH LINE—Print your birth date (month-day-year); blood type (if available); and religious’ preference (P for Protestant, C Qf Catholic, J for Jewish, Y for all other religions.) Example: 3-31-34 O.
