McKinley weathers
_ John McKinley Weathers, ton of the late William and Susie Grayson Weathers, died August 15 at 5:30 a.m. while a patient in the University of Virginia hospital, Charlottesville. Mr. Weathers had suffered a lingering illness, being confined to his bed for the past 9 months.
Bom in Rappahannock September 27,' 1896, he spent his early life here, later working in Pennsylvania and West Vlrginii. He was respected as a good, hard working citizen of the community.
Mr. Weathers was married to Miss Lily Gates Weathers December 28, 1944. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Weathers, 2 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson, Washington, D.C., and Miss Margaret - Weathers, Boston, Mass.; 2 brothers, James, Steeltown, Pa., and Arthur, Pittsburgh, Pa., and 1 aunt, Mrs. John Hall of Washington, D.C. Also a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church, August 19 at 2:30 with Elders Tim- ' bers and King officiating. Pallbearers were Haywood Timbers, Edward Freeman, Robert Freeman, William O. Starks, William Yates, and John Barbour. Flower girls were Mabel Brent,. Joan Bailey, Ann Freeman, Mary Fletcher, Ann Carter and Frances Gatewood.
