Round Of Strikes Bad For Farmers The recent round of strikes resulting in wage increases and guaranteed wages can be interpreted for fanners in two words— “higher costs’’—says Dr. J. L. Max ton, agricultural economist at VPI. Although some of the higher wages will be spent for food and other farm products, they >are not expected to add up to any net increases in farm income, Dr. Maxton says.
