Wesley Green Dies

In Fire Sunday Night

' Wesley “Buck” Green, was burned to death when fire destroyed his home in Smedley Hollow around midnight Sunday.

The fire was discovered by a neighbor who ran to the house, opened the door and tried to enter, but was forced back by the flames. Indications were that Green tried to escape from the building. His body was found just inside the front door.

The Washington Fire Company answering the call, found the house almost consumed when they arrived. Sheriff J. W. Critzer was summoned for a formal investigaiton.

Earlier Sunday, around 5:30 p.m. the Washington firemen were called to a chimney fire at the home of Ernest Fincham near Flint Hill. This fire caused little damage. ■*
