that a compulsory law to enforce hospitalization of uncooperative ■ tuberculosis cases is badly needed in Virginia. In my section (Southwest Virginia) there has been quite an increase in tuberculosis. I have patients who just won’t go to the hospital. I know of other patients who have left the hospital * against medical advice before they were cured and whose disease is still active enough to constitute a danger to others. I don’t know any way to control these patients without enforcing hospitalization.”

Local tuberculosis associations throughout the State and the Virginia Tuberculisis Association are supporting the passage of quarentine law as one of the prime needs to be considered by the General Assembly in 1956 if the most serious communicable disease in the Commonwealth is to be driven front its position as a killer and disabler.
