At the request of the Virginia Horticultural Society, the Virginia Department of Agriculture will conduct a complete aptple and peach survey. This survey will begin this month. It will determine planting trends, age, condition of apple and peach trees, etc. j

Such information is very essential in planning any program designed to further the fruit industry of our country. It will be of great benefit to the State Department of Agriculture and Virginia iHort. Society in planning their marketing campaigns. The information should prove valuable to County Grower Groups collectively and individually. It will be an aide to Extention as well as Research workers on the state and county levels. '

Of course the extent of its value will depend on grower cooperation and the accuracy of their reports. All figures will be summarized and published by counties and areas only. U

Rappahannock fruit growers are reminded spray service cards lean,, be sent only to those requesting them. Call Washington, 2231 or write me stating whether you wish to receive the Apple, Peach, (or both) spray cards. Such is required by postal regulations.
