Mrs. M. R. Bradford had with her for dinner Wednesday evening Mrs. Leslie Fox Keyser, elementary school supervisor of Front Royal, Mrs. Fannie Eastham, Mrs. L. B. Burford and Mrs. R. L. Massie. Later they attended the graduating exercises of the Flint Hill school at which Mrs. Keyser was the guest speaker.
Mrs. G. W. Powers held a leader training meeting at the home of Mrs. W. A. Gentry, Wednesday for demonstration “Outdoor Cookery”. Luncheon guests were Mrs. Carson Lillard Mrs. John Derting, Mrs. J. C. Reynolds, Sandra and Allen Derting.
Mrs. Charles E. George jof Washington, D. C. was guest of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Corbin Thursday. ■ ’" '
Miss Jean Lillard gave a talk on the radio from Culpeper Thursday noon. Her topic was “What 4-H Means To Me”. Dorothy Ajnn Moore played the piano for her part on the program. She was winner jn the recent “Share the Fun” contest when she played a duet with Frances Wood.
Miss Elinor Jane Atkins and Miss Paula Miller were co-hostesses at a surprise birthday party given in honor of Miss Mary Anri Walters of Front Royal, Wednesday evening. Guests included, Dale Reil, Joe Ramey and Johnny Sealock of Front Royal, Louise Williams, Maybelle Williams, Herman and Bobby Williams of Chester Gap, Robert Baker, Gallie Smith, Lynn Atkins,- Mike Vest, Doris Ann Atkins, Dolly Lillard. Elinor Jane Atkins had the party at her home, where the guests enjoyed games, music and the guest of honor received many gifts and good wishes.
