LETTER TO THE

EDITOR

\ Elkwood, Va. ; ' *■ January 22, 1957 To the Rappahannock News; Washington, Virginia;

I have been asked by several persons concerning the progress of the renovation at Old Mt. Salem Baptist Church.

I wish to report that some work has been done. The chimney has been repaired and made usable and provision has been made for lighting during revivals. Further a local contractor has been engaged "to make repairs to the roof and to do some masot^y and plastering work on the building. We are awaiting the completion of this work'. *

There is $118.00 left in the Renervation fund, this being sufficient’ to pay for all contipjatcd work and we are not soliciting additional money at this time.

You are invited to attend the services it Mt. Salem which are held at 2:30 on the 1st and 3rd Sundays during the winter months weather and roads permitting.

Very Cordially Yours
