Margaret Anne Divers who made nine field goals. The Rappahannock boys remained undefeated in league competition in downing Garfield 4940. At the half Garfield was leading 21-19, during the third- quarter each team scored ten points. Play in the final half had spectators standing as the game was tied three times! In the last few minutes of the contest the Rappahannock team spurred by the floor work of Devers and Rutherford closed strong
Top scorer was Tullenwider of Garfield with sixteen points which consisted of six field goals and four foul shots. Devers and Clater led for Rappahannock with 13 points each with Rutherford but two points behind them on the tally sheet. Our boys really functioned as a team.
Pending the outcome of Nokesville game also held tonight this places the Rappahannock boys’ team in 1st place group 2 District 9 or if Nokesvill won .then they are tied for top honors wjth Rapnahannock. Mr. Wirtz is coach of our Rappahannock boys team while Mr. Amos Hawkins coaches the girls team which is undefeated.
