The Rev. Robert E. Lee, pastor of the Little Fork Methodist Charge, announced last week that the Oak Shade congregation of the Charge is taking steps to purchase St. Mark’s Episcopal Chapel in Rixeyville. St. Mark’s Chapel is now under the jurisdiction of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Culpeper and the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. - *

St. Mark”s Chapel was built in 18% on land donated by John Smith, storekeeper and postmaster at the time. It is the only church ever built in Rixeyville.
