ITEM 7. “The advisability of present construction due to existing •'onditions—recommendations of state officials as to present action by Vxralities where need exists."
It is probable that existing school conditions may be changed or clarified before completion of the above program.
ITEM 8. “The possibility of raising additional taxes for the benefit of schools rather than arbitrarily placing an increased tax on the lands if the county”
We recommend ^n annual vehicle license tax of $10,00 each on every automobile, pick-up truck and truck which carries a state license tag and which is owned and operated in Rappahannock County. Funds derived from this tax would go into our General Fund and a like amount would be set aside for the benefit of the above school program. Two sources of ^information were used in arriving at our estimate of the total number of sueh vehicles in Rappahannock County. From the lists of assessed personal property, we found this total to be 1,389. From the registration lists furnished by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, we found 1,870. We suggest that this discrepancy be investigated.
Using the arbitrarary figure of 1,500 vehicles, we derive revenue as follow:
