A fire in Little Fork Church In the fall of 1955 forced the Methodists to discontinue services there. During the winter months services were held across Ac road from Little Fori at the home of Mrs. Leonard Carder. Last March the Methodists moved by invitation to the Chapel in Rixeyville.
Since moving" to Rixeyville, the Methodists have seen a marked increase in membership and attendance. It is reported that new members have been reernved for the first time in three years. Attendance has doubled and tripled within a year. The budget of the church is now three time* what it was> four years ago. The Oak $hade congregation contributes monthly to the payment of a $17,000 parsonage for the Charge. The congregation is now participating in a District “No Silent Pulpit” program, which. with the help of guest lav speakers from Culpeper and vicinity* enables them to have a service eyerv Sundov. the first and third Sundays at 11:00 a. m. and the second and fourth Sundavt at 2:30 p. m.
