Of Brush Buring Law

Fire Warden Raymond Johnson states the 4 o’clock Brush Burning; Law is now in effect in all sections of Virginia.- Setting fire to brush, grass, leaves, trash and other inflammable material within 300 feet of any woodland or brush land is illegal except between the hours of 4 P. M. and midnight. Violations are punishable by fines from $10 to $100 and if a forest fire results, the violator is further liable for the costs involved in supressing the fire. Don’t be careless and set the woods on fire. Smokev says “Re careful folks when burning thash and brush. Abide bv the Forest Fire Laws. Remember. ONLY von ran PREVENT FOREST FIRES.”
