The above article was sent in to the Washington Rescue Squad by some unknown person. We think this is a very good article as it concerns every member in our squad and ' to the general public, who try to give aid to folks who need help in emergencies. ,

I expecct most of us are guilty of the above in one way or another. But we try in every way to improve.

This is a good time to jftit before the public the functions of our Squad- We are called in an emergency to give firstaid and transportation to the injured and to the sick to a doctor or to a hospital. .

Just because we have the right- of-way is no excuse with us for excessive speed (except in case of life or death) and above all the driver of our ambulance is to drive with safety in mind at all times. ♦/These are some of the requirements of our squad:

There will be no more than twelve members in this squad at one time. The age limit is 18 years old. With a small iquad we think we can have a more efficient team to work with. If a man misses so many calls without a good excuse, he is automatically suspended and his case is brought up and decided by the squad what will be done. Another and most important rule is that each member must have at least a standard Red Cross card which he will have it renewed every three years. We have men who are driving to Culpeper right now taking a Red Cross First-Aid course. A man cannot stay in the organization who has had the opportunity to this course and does not take it. . , We are, and will be taking refresher courses m our squad from time to time to stay prepared for any emergency.
