Mrs. Herbert Atkins
Mrs. Lena Atldns died at her home in Sperryville on March 22. Daughter of the late Jonas Atkins and Mrs. Sarah Dodson Atkins she was 74 years of age and had been in ill health for sometime.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon in the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church with the pastor Rev. Edward Nicholson and Rev. A. D. Goodson officiating.
Survivors besides her husband, Herbert Atkins include two sons, Charles and Cecil Atkins, three daughters, Mrs. Roy Leake, Mrs. Nelson Atkins, of Flint Hill and Lucille Atkins at home.
Active pallbearers were Dolan Jenkins, Roy Atkins, Jonas Jenkins, Burnham Atkins, Joseph Atkins and Alvin Atkins.
Interment was made in the family lot in the Sperryville Cemetary.
Mr8. D. Lyle Miller
Mrs. Elizabeth Strother Miller age 76 died Sunday morning at the University Hospital. Charlottesville, Va. She w-as taken ill early Sunday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Sanford of Orange. Va. whom she was visiting.
Her husband D. Lyle Miller died several years ago and she had made her home with her son-inlaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Quaintance, Jr. since his death.
She was a daughter of the late Judge Tames French Strother and Mary Botts Strother and was born and grew up at “The Meadows the Strogher home here.
She was a member of the !Episc«o->l Church.
She is surevived bv one son, D. J.vle Miller. Jr. at home'and two d•’lighters. IVfrs. W. W. Sanford of Orange, Va. and Mrs. R. G. Quaintance. Jr. and two grandsons.
Also surviving are twrj sitters Mrs. Clav Mason and Miss BellStrother and one brother, James French Strother of Welch, West Virginia. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesdav. March 26th at 2:fFI n.m. at Trinifv Fnisconal Church with the Rev. John R. Frizzell conducting the services. Interment
