Over Co. Budget
The Rappahannock Board of Supervisors held its regular month* ly meeting at the Court House on Wednesday, April 3rd with Supervisors W. C. Campbell, H.A. Foster, A. C. Larham, E. M. Estes, H. A .Wood and A, H. Buckner, Jr. present. A number ot citizens trom different sections of the county were present and made requests for road, improvements. Resident Engineer, Joseph E. Warren was present to hear their requests which will be given careful consideration. St te Auditor, B. B. Mitchell, at the request of the board, was prer-nt at the meeting to help with the Proposed budget. Ways and means of balancing the budget were discussed with all Supervisors opposed to raising the levy. The tentavie budget was approved unar’mousley.
Dr. R. G. Freel, Supervising Area Veterinarian of the Agriculture Research Service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture appeared before the county board of supervisors to ,describe the Brucellosis eradication program which is about to start in the county.
The program is a joint effort of the Federal and State Agriculture Dept’s. and wil be handled largely through the office of the county agent. .
All of the cattle in the County will be tested by practicing veterinarian who will be selected by livestock owners: '
The work will be done at no expense to the cattle raisers and it is honed .that the county will be declared a modified certified brucellosis-free by the end of the year.
