Follow Good Practices
for Efficient
Corn Production

The slogan of every good corn fanner is efficient production. Ths usualy means to follow good production practices so that a high yield will be obtained at a low cost of production. To accomplish this careful planning is necessary. No fanner is satisfied with a poor crop, and all farmrs are striving to do everything possible to get efficient and economical yields.
Some examples of cost of production to be used as a guide by fanners show that cost of production was less per bushel with high yields. This guide was worked out with the cooperation of the Farm Management Specialist and corn yields of 80 bushels and 40 bushels per acre weree used. The cost 'figure for each practice was based on cost figures available for each of the major areas of the state. A summary of the cost per bushel for production of this area is as followjs:
