On Thursday, May 30, Trinity Church will celebrate the first 100 years of its existence. Records show that the cornerstone was laid on May 30. 1857, in a ceremony participated in by the Washington Masonic Lodge. The church was consecrated on November 29, 1857, by. The Right Rev. John Johns, Assistant Bishop of Virginia. Its congregation at that time numbered 7 communicants who raised among themselves nearly all the $1,800.00 needed to pay for the building which was done by Mr. James Powers.
The ceremonies on Thursday, .will also include the Dedication of the New Parish House which has just been completed. Services will begin at 11KX) a.m. with the Holy Communion, The Rt. Rev.
