Albert Williams, 14, of Reva, - * Va., suffered ’ a skull concussion and Earl Carpenter of Culpeper, , ;v Va. received slight injuries when the 1951 Ford sedan in which they , , were riding with Dallas Edmond Simpson, Jr., Boston, Va. was involved in an accident with a 1947 Dodge sedan operated by David Ashby Nibbins, Jr., a sailor, of Rt. 2, Culpeper, home on leave..
The accident* occurred about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25r about two miles east of Spcrryvillf^ '' on Rt. 211.
Both cars were headed East. Simpson’s car attempted to pass Nibb ns’ car and when he cut back ' in he hung the front bumper of Nibb:ns\ car. Simpson’s car went out of control, crossed to the left side ^f the road, cut down a telephone pole and turned completely over.
Nibb-ns’ car failed to stop at the 7 scene of the accident but was later ■ apprehended at Flatwoods and was charged with hit and run and \ reckless driving.
Simpson was charged with rflfck- v less driving also. -
The Washington Rescue Squad was called and took the injured to Front Royal Hospital. They later took Williams to the University Hospital, Charlottesville.
The accident was investigated / by State Officer W. A. Buntin.
Irene Russell, 19, of Hundy, had her left arm injured when me 1955 Chevrolet sedan in which die was riding with James Walter Roy, Jr., 16, of Flint Hill, had a head on collision with a 1954 Ford sedan driven by Joseph Randolph Pendleton also of Flint Hill.
The injured girl was taken to the Front Royal Hospital. Roy was charged with reckless drivings
State Officer W. A. Buntin investigated the accident.
