A $67,715 contract has been awarded by the Stfete Highway Commission for a concrete bridge over the Hazel River and a straighter approach road on Route 729 in Cupeper County north of Dunkard Church. The contract went to Donald H. Selvage, Inc., Amherst.
Route 729 is a through secondr ary highway connecting Culpeper with US 211 at Ben Venue and US 522 at Flint Hill in Rappahannock County. :

The existing 105-foot one-way span has a wooden floo rand a capacity of only ten tons. The 195 foot new bridge will have a 24 foot roadway and maximum load capacity. ' A time limit of 150 days will be given the contractor to complete construction, excluding time officially lost because of bad weather.
