The service was designed by Betty Jean Settle, adapting the Installation Service from the guide book of the S.C.A. to fit the local situation. Betty Jean acted as leader, Peachey Lyne read the scripture and Shirley Brown led the prayer. ,
The'President was installed by last year’s Vice-president, Judy Hawkins; then he in turn installed the other officers.
Julian Brown, in his position as president gave a talk on the aims of the S.C-A. He stated that it is hoped , that this year die students can be of real service to the school, including helping in the library and improving the appearance of the building and grounds.'
Ginger Russell read the minutes of the Council, the ruling group which includes home room presidents and presidents of the various clubs.
Julian then gave the oath to the club and presidents and the entire student body took the following oath:
As a ipember of the Rappahannock High School Student Cooperative Association, I promise as far as I am able: To do my best to help my school and my community, To do cheerfully and well the things that need to be done; To worship God and serve him and to do my part to keep my State and Nation great.
The meeting closed with a prayer dedicating the service of the organization to God.
