RAPPAHANNOCK
l)
farmer* represent ajbout one-half of our number of farmers. Income of Families
In 1950 the median Rappahannoch^family income was $1111, while the median family income statewide was $2602! This is not net—IT IS GROSS. In Rappahannock 692% of our families had annual income of less than $2000 as compared to 37.1% in the state! What is the relationship between educational levels and incrane levels?
Think about this. Could you live on it? Could you run our oounty much better than it is now being run? Our schools, our county, all are run largely in proportion to the taxpayers ability to pay. They may have the ability to earn much more, but we must start, and do, according^. the present situation as nearly as can be determined.
The above figures do not reflect factually where we are todaythey are mathematical projections based upon actual trends.
