The judges considered the accuracy and importance of subject matter information given, the manner of" presentation, the knowledge of the skill or technique required, and the girl-'s appearance. Judges serving included Home Ecbnomice teachere, Home. Economists from Power Suppliers, Home Economics trained homemakers and J’.onie agents. i One hundred 4-H girls over 14 years of age from nineteen counties in Northern Virginia participated in ten different contests. The two girls placing first in each contest Will represent the Northern Virginia District in the state demonstration program to be held during fhe 4-H Short Course at V.P.I. in June. They will compete with winders from the other five Extension pistricts in the state. ! ’ Entering the contest from Rappahannock County were: Jean LilIard in Home Improvement; Judy Lillard in Dairy Foods; Peachey Lyne in Meal Preparation. Jean received a red award and Judy and Peachey received white awards. I Others attending were Mrs. Elizabeth Powers, who helped as aj judge, Mrs. W. H. Lyne, Betty Kilby, Doris and Janice Dodson, Virginia Bradford and Miss Anna Ruth Barnette, Home Agent.
