Gordon Thornhill, Technician for Rappahannock Artificial Breeding Association, has been employed to inseminate all of thte cows at the Front Royal Beef Cattle Research Center. His services will still be available to Rappahannock Cow owners. The Research Center is sending several of their better sires to the Virginia Artificial Breeding Association’s bull center at Rocky Mount. Services to these bulls will be available the same as the services from the Gumsey, Holstein and Jersey bulls owned by V.AB.A.
Artificial breeding of beef cattle is on tthe increase especially .n purebred herds as a means of expanding the serviceability of an outstanding bull or in controlling diseases.
