Flint Hill Fire Compajny and Ladies Auxiliary have gotten activities under way for the forthcoming annual carnival to be held July 30, 31 and August 1. Entries and standings in the carnival queen contest are as follows: Judy North sponsored by Foster Brothers is lending with 2.300 votes; Carolyn Campbell, Russell Brothers, 1,528; Madeline Clark, Bradford’s Store 1,407; Millie Grimsley. Wheat Referendum
Voting for the referendum to be held July 23 (today) on marketing quotas for the I960 wheat crop will take place at the Rappahannock ASC County Office from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Chairman H. S. Barksdale reports.
Farmers who are eligible to vote in the wheat quota referendum are all those who in 1960 will have more than 15 acres of Wheat for harvest as grain on a farm, except those who are participating in the 1959 feed wheat program.
If at least two-thirds of the growers who vote in the referendum approve the quotas, they will remain in effect for |1960-crop wheat and price support! will be available to farmers whjo comply with their farm wheat allotment, at at least 75 per cent Of parity.
