Washington—In reporting on agricultural matters up for consideration in Washington, I have taken occasion, from time to time to point that our national farm policies have been so oriented as to channel their major tangible benefits into certain "singlecrop” areas of the nation.

It has been no secret to farmers of this part of Virginia that federal price support payments are a minor factor in the agricultural economy j here. The soil bank experiment, likewise, lias proved no bonanza to our region.
