According to Mate trooper -John L. Lawman, they were in * car operated by George Smith, Jr. of Woodstock. The vehicle failed to make die turn at the intersection and went off die highway into a yard striking a trea^licad-on. The accident occurred about 9:45 p.m.
Ilnjured were Smith, the driver dT the car, a 1950 Chevrolet^ Mary Thomas, 22, of Strasburg, who suffered two broken legs and laceration* of the arm; and SharJetta Robinson, 20, also of Strasjnirfc whp suffered a fractured right Jeg, right arm andpoesible internal injuries. The injured were' taken to Warren Memorial IHSospital by the Washington and Flint Hill Rescue Squads. The two women were transferred to Winchester Hospital later. • The accident Saturday night brings traffic fatalities to an all time high, in Rappahannock County according to statistics.
