Shop Judging
Contest Held
The Rappahannock C ount y Chapter Future Farmers of America was host to other chapters of the Northern Triangle Federation for the annual Shop Judj^ng Contest Monday night.
This contest includes the following events: Judging farm gates, designed to test students ability to recognize and evaluate the merits of approved metal working practices. Judging heavy duty saw horses: this event is to test ability to correctly evaluate correct wood working skills. Tool identification, which is to test ability to recognize and associate the various tools used in the average farm shop. Calculating a bill of material, and this event is used for instruction in determining the most economical bill of material for a certain piece of equipment to be constructed and also determine ability to calculate board feet measurements.
At this date the winning team in the contest has not determined but preliminary surveys of indi-‘ vidual score cards revealed that certainly Rappahannock would be near if not on top.
The members of the Rappahannock team participating in the contest were Roger Anderson, Thomas Williams and Bobby Williams.
After the contest, refreshments were served to those present.
