Five accidents occurred in Rappahannock County over the week end resulting in $3,250 in damages and some serious injuries, but no fatalities. ' August 18 at 9 p.m. on Route 211 one mile east of Amissville, a 1949 Ford pick-up owned and operated by James Milton Payne of Amissville^ was waiting to make a left turn Onto a dirt road when a 1960 Pontiac sedan owned and operated by Jacob Richard Catrow of Alexandria struck Payne’s truck in the rear. The truck had no rear lights and Catrow was unable to see it soon enough to avoid a collision. Approximately $450 damage resulted to the two vehicles.
Friday, August 19 at 8:30 p.m., a mile west of Flint Hill on Route 606, a 1955 Ford belonging to Thomas Edward Jordan of Huntly was parked on the side of the road and was struck by a 1950 Chevrolet owned and operated by Joseph Randolph Pendleton of Flint Hill.
