WMS Observes

Week Of Prayer

Members of the Woman’s Missionary Society of the Washington Baptist Church met at the church Tuesday for their first service of the 1961) Week of Prayer for Foreign Missions. The last service of the week will be held at the church on December 2, with daily services in the homes On days intervening.

The theme of the week is “His Peace for the Multitudes”. For the missionary groups, that reach to many parts of the world, eight special aims have been selected fot the year ahead: 1.World Awareness; 2. Spiritual Life Development; 3. Christian Witnessing; 4. Sharing Possessions; 5. Educating Youth in Missions; 6. Enlisting for Missions; 7. Leadership Training; 8. Reporting Advancement.

(ffficers ond committees for each of the 8 aims are to be appointed and are being asked to accept responsibility for attaining the aims.

Mrs. J. Frank Jones is the pray(•• leader for the week. “Seeing the multitudes hungry, diseased, afraid and without a Shepherd”, women around the world will pray that they and others will be of great compassion and try to see that every, woman is ready for Christmas.

The regular meeting of the W. M.S. of the Washington Baptist Church will be held Tuesday December 6 at 2 p.m. at the church.
