The 1960 report of the Commission on Public Education to Governor J. Lindsay Almond is being looked forward to with much interest by teachers and those interested in Virginia schools, as the report submitted to the Governor on the work -done by the Committee during 1954 did not include reports of elementary education. The study was confined mostly, to the High School. The Commission stated: “The time factor, as well as the specific direction of the General Assembly made it necessary for the Commission, early in its deliberations, to assign a priority to the facts of the public school system which would te sftidied TIRST. As yet, the Commission has not had an Opportunity to study the field of elementary education, nor has it completed its study of many other subjects related to public education. Listed below are some of the subjects, which ' in our judgment should be given further study.”
