John Wayland
John Hamilton Wayland, farmer and merchant of Sperryville, Virginia, died Monday, January 2 in Winchester Memorial Hospital. Son of the late John Ernest Way' land and Lorena Brown Wayland of Rappahannock County', he was 60 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, the ^former Miss Katherine Aber; two sons, John David Waylind of Stanley and William T. Wayland , of Sperryville; two -daughters, Mrs. George T. Johnston of Hyattsville, Md., and Mrs. Thomas P. Tupper of Westford, Mass.; and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Claire Pauze’ of Woodville. ■ and Mrs; Margaret Bilz of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, J.,Earl Wayland of Sperryville and James M. Wayland of Front Royal.
A funeral service was held Wednesday. January 4, from Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church at Sperryville, with the pastor, Rev. H. E. .Nicholson, conducting the ^ last rites. Interment followed in the family cemetery on the Wayland farm.
Pallbearers were Frank Brown, Ashby Wayland, Ollie Fincham, Pat Miller, Lee Thornton, James W. Fletcher, Lucio Kilby and Dr. J. P. Snead.
Geest Funeral Parlors were in .charge of arrangements.
