Mr. and Mrs. James Hartley — of Titusville, Fla. were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hall at Rose Hill on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Johnston and daughters attended the Father’s Day gathering at the home of Mrs. Johnston’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Tanner in Wolftown on Sunday. All the children and grandchildren were present for the annual affair. In the afternoon, Misses Kay and Carolyn Johnston attended the wedding of Miss Barbara Moore.
Miss Annie Miller Almond attended the closing of the Floris School term in Herndon last week. She spent from Wednesday until Friday in Herndon and was among the members of the faculty entertained tor dinner Thursday by the Principal of Floris School, Mrs. Nina F. Gibson.
Mrs. Leroy Hall and children of Florida are expected to arrive at National Airport in Washington, D. C. today for a visit with Mrs. Hal’s mother, Mrs. Downing Wood.
Mr. and Mrs. George Haymaker of Front Royal were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Haymakers aunt, Miss Lottie Burton at her - home on Piedmont Avenue.
Miss Burton has recently received encouraging news about the continued improvement of her nephew, Donald Burton, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident in Miami, Fla. about !Easter. He had both jaw bones broken, all of his ribs on one side and one elbow broken. Hte is Still in a cast, but is now able to walk around. His jaw bones are wired ■■ and he is only able to take liquids. He visited here every summer as a child and is remembered by many local friends.
