Stations Named

Game Warden C. E. Brown of Rappahannock County has just announced that the following Game Checking Stations will be operated for the convenience of Rappahannock County hunters. These stations are: Green’s Store, Slate Mills, Va.; Burke’s Store, Woodyille, Va.; Johnson’s Esso Service, Sperryville, Va. ; Payne’s Garage, Washington, Va.; Mills Store, ' Huntly, Va.; Rector’s Store, Flint Hill, Va.; Jenkins Garage, Amissville, Va. * • ’ ■'*''

Warden Brown cautions sportsmen that it is State law that_ “Immediately upon killing a bear or deer, a hunter must detach the appropriate tab from his bear-deer -turkey license and attach it to the kill, then take the kill to an official checking station where the license tab will be exchanged for an official game tag.’’

Warden Brown advises every hunter to review the Summary of - Virginia Game laws before the season opens. The digest may be obtained where you purchase your license and at most check stations. This Game Law Summary may also be obtained by writing to the Commission ofGame and Inland Fisheries, P. O. Box 1642, Richmond 13, Virginia. Ask for digest A-5. According to Mr. Brown, bow hunters take to the fields from October 16 to November 1 for bear, deer and squirrel Is. The general hunting season opens November 20. There is no wild turkey season in Rappahannock County.
