Mrs. Eva Smith was a weekend guest of Mrs. G. W. Smith in North -Garden and attended a birthday and family party Saturday with thirty-five guests present. Miss Jean Lillard, a student at Madison College, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carson Lillard, who with Miss Jean Lillard accompanied her back to Harrisonburg Sunday.
Marvin Bradford, III, a studerit at V.P.I., Blacksburg, spent the weekend with his parents here.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robertson of Hopkinsville, Ky. are spending this week with Mrs. Robertson’s parents. Capt. and Mrs. J. P. Cook. Rev. and Mrs. Claude Cook of Lovingston were Sunday guests of the Cooks.
Jim Redmon of New Brunswick and Tucker Aufranc of Boston were house guests for the weekend of Butch Browning.
John B. Browning who spent a leave with his parents will return to Fort Hollabird near Baltimore to attend 14 weeks of Army Counter Intelligence schooling.
Rev. and Mrs. Warren Wilbur , were dinner guests Monday eveni ing of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Browning.

Mrs. H. B. Winfrey was hostess to the Sperryville Bridge Club at her home Sunstroke -Manor in Woodville, Friday evening. Those plaving were Mrs. BrownJMiller, Mrs. Butler, Mrs. IfOT Wolf, Mrs. R. G. Quaintance, Mrs. R. E. Wood, Mrs. L. J. Kilby. Mrs. John P. Snead. Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Mrs. Roy Reeve. Mrs. W. H. Lyne, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, III, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Goddard, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Flynt. A dessert was served bv the hostess at the conclusion of the game and prizes were awarded Mrs. C. E. Johnson and Mrs. Quaintance.
