Robert William Brown, Jr., 27, of Sperryville was pronounced dead; on arrival at Culpeper Memorial Hospital last night from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Brown was a passenger in al 1959 Chevrolet pick-up t r u c k j which was owned and operated by' Charles William Jenkins of Luray. j Jenkins was formerly a resident of Sperryville.
The accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Route 522 in the west end of Woodville as they were heading for Sperryville. The vehicle skidded off the right side of the highway, which was slippery from the all-day rain, and careened back across the road and down an embankment. It struck a power pole and telephone pole, breaking them both off and turned over.

Get Assistance
Student nurses who have sucessfully completed their second year of nursing school are now eligible for financial assistance while completing their course of instruction, M/Sgt. Cline, local U.S. Army recruiter announced here today. This assistance, Sgt. Cline, said, would cover payment of tuition, books, fees, and a liberal monthly salary.
Through the Army Student Nurse Program, an attractive educational opportunity is available to student nurses who can qualify. Since the number of candidates is necessarily limited, those student nursss who are interested and desire further information are urged to contact Sgt. Cline, local US Army Recruiter at Culpeper, Va.
Hat Workshop
If it doesn’t snow, we will try again to have a hat making workshop on March 27th. The workshop will be held in the parish hall hall of Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Va. at 9:45 a.m. next Tuesday. Bring your friends and neighbors and a mental picture of the hat you want to make.
