Dates set for' the annual firemens carnival in Amissville are August 15, 16, 17, and 18. Plans are being made for many attractions, good food, games and entrtainment.
Boy Scouts Make
20-Mile Hike
Saturday the Washington Boy Scout Troop 64 earned their hiking merit badge by hiking 20 miles from mile post 12 to mile post 32 on Skyline Drive. The Scouts hiking were Milton Gore, Jr., Frank and Page Moffet, Skippy Giles, Ronnie Hawkins, Jimmy Jenkins, Roger Hawkins, Ned Jones, Jr., and Sam Snead. They were accompanied by Paul Nichols, Judge Rayner Snead and W. F. Moffet, who did not earn their badges.
