I was seized with pangs of horror as I read this for only last week I had seen Susan do the same thing, pull the belt up around her chest and slide down in the seat. I immediately made up sit up, but did not realize just how dangerous this could be.

Wheneveh Paul Nichols and I chance to meet, our topic of conversation invariably runs to Youth, Recreation and our county, its lackings and possibilities.

How nice it would be to have a swimming pool in Rappahannock instead of having to go to Front Royal, Warrenton, Culpeper, Madison or Luray for a dip. Maybe if we plant the seeds now they will germinate by summer . . . Paul is a wonderful swimming instructor. I took the intermediate Red Cross course under him several years ago (and even passed it).

One comment he made during our conversation Monday evening was, “I think the young people of Rappahannock, and I can speak especially of those in Flint Hill, should be publicly commended for their excellent behavior on Hallowe’en. They all seemed to have a good time and there was no vandalism.”

I agree wholeheartedly.
