Urge Seat Belt Safety
On Saturday, Mrs. Patty Clark, chairman of the Front Royal Business and Professional Women's Club Seat. Belt Project, reported that most of the approved seat belts on hand had been sold but that another shipment was due in Monday. In the past, orders have been sent off on Saturday and the belts have been received within ten days. The last order will be made at the close of business on Friday night, November SO. ]
Also reporting for thttPgbliclty Chairman, Mrs. Gladys Lewis, Mrs. Clark said that ovefr 600 club members and guests had viewed the film on automotive crashes and that two more groups are scheduled to see it this week, in Warren County.
Mrs. Clark said, ‘Our BPW Club is concerned with the number of deaths and serious injuries resulting from automotive crashes and we hope that everyone will seriously consider installing safety seat belts in their cars and then using them. As a service to the public, the Club has approved belts for sale at the Downing Motor Company and Fix’s Gulf Service Station on North Royal Avenue, at a reduced price. I would like to remind our people that this special offer expires on Friday night.”
“This is the time of year,” Mrs. Clark continued, “when road conditions often make driving hazardous and it is not always the careful driver’s fault when a crash occurs. About 80% of the accidents which occur each year happen to a person for the first time. Last year the total number of deaths from auto accidents was 38,200 and four million, $ve hundred thousand people were injured in auto accidents.”

Mr. M. A. Greeley was an overnight patient Monday for treatment in the Warren Memorial Hospital.
Miss Rosa Belle Williams returned to Richmond on Sunday afternoon after spending the Thanksgiving week-end at her home here.
Mrs. Odell Williams returned to her home on Thursday from the Warren Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for four days.
Mr. and Mrs. “Timmy” Williams spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. James Shipe and family of Routte 2, Front Royal.
Mr. and Mrs. Giles Fox of Richmond spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Fox, having been called here by the death on Friday of Mr. Fox’s sister Mrs. Viola Athey. Our deepest sympathy is extended to the Fox and Athey families in their great loss.
Mr. and Mrs. Giles Beatty and daughters Irene and Helen of Gainesville were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Williams.
