Although Rappahannock is a feed-grain deficit producing county, in some instances her farmers could make more money feeding -taut hogs than they cap producing pigs for feed lota. Anyone of these swine enterprises demand efficiency of operation and up-to-date methods.
Probably Rappahannock’s swine enterprise will remain primarily in production of feeder pigs for market.
Such being the local trend our producers will be interested in comparison of prices paid for feeder pigs at the various sales in Northern and Eastern Virginia. In making such comparisons, one should keep in mind the fluctuations in the hog market.
