The annual awards dinner sponsored by the Culpeper Soli Conservation District was held Wednesday night at Graves Lodge, Syria. J. Clifford Miller, Jr. owner of Mt. ; Vernon Stock Farm, Sperry■ ville was recognized as Rappahannock Conservation Farmer of the Year. Mr. Miller resides in Richmond and his farm is managed by Edwin Scroggins. Acreage at Mt. Vernon is 890. Among conservation prao tices are contour crop land, contour orchards, 2 farm ponds, 2 spring developments, contour strips and ditch drainage. The farm has a dairy herd of about 150 Holsteins. Other counties in the Soil District include Greene, Orange, Culpeper and Madison. A farmer was recognized from each county. W. H.
