Mt. Jackson Generals
The Rappahannock County High School varsity basketball team opened the season with a game Tuesday December 5th at Stonewall Jackson High at Mt. Jackson. After four quarters of play Rappahannock won by a score of 51-48. Bobby Settle, Captain for the Panthers was high scorer with a total of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Co-captain Charles Dodson was second in the Panther storing department with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Such skill and fine teamwork kept Rappahannock out front all the way. High Scores for the Generals was J. Thomas with 13 points and second was John Roasen with 10 points. Friday the Panthers will play Central High School, Woodstock on the Rappahannock Court.
Enthusiasm was running high in the Panther camp with pre dictions for a very successful season with the fine show of spirit and skill by the team in the first outing of the year.
