Two Traffic Mishaps
In Snow Thursday
During the heavy snow storm last Thursday, two minor traffic mishaps occurred, both the result of snow skidding. At 6:30 in the morning on Route 231 a mile and a half south of Sperryville one car skidded into the rear of another. Clifton William (Tippy) Jenkins was heading north in a 62 Chevrolet when he was struck from behind by a 66 Chevrolet convertible operated by Henry Edward Gore. Both men are from Sperryville. There were no injuries and damage to each vehicle was estimated at $400. On Route 729 west of Viewtown at 1:30 that day, two vehicles met on a sharp curve and skidded together in the snow. Involved in this crash was Roy Edward Berry, jr. of Amissville operating a 67 Chevrolet pickup and a 67 Chevrolet truck owned by Virginia Holsum Baking Co., Inc. of Verona and operated by James Edward (Bill) Bailey of Winchester. No injury resulted and damage was set at $300 to the bread truck and $350 to the pickup. Trooper W. A. Buntin investi gated the accidents.
