Flu Races Through

A flu-like virus has been galloping through this and surrounding areas since latter December, with most of the victims reported to have type A infection, one similar to the Asian flu. In at least two counties, schools closed for the Christmas holidays earlier than usual because of the late incidence of absence^ but adults, too, have been stricken by the respiratory infection.

Outbreaks were reported all along the Eastern seaboard, but at least 24 states have been affected. An estimated 15,000 cases were reported in northern Georgia alone, most of these in Atlanta. Definite documentation of Asian flu was reported in Michigan, Florida, New Jersey, Alabama, New York, Oklahoma, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, and Georgia; with probably Aslan flu In parts of Indiana, Virginia, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Missouri, Ohio, Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the District of Columbia.
