Minor in Crashes
A number of traffic incidents have occurred and been reported in the past week with injury and damages slight.
On Friday afternoon, December 12, two cars were involved in a crash on the parking lot at the Rappahannock Manufacturing plant near Flint Hill. Gertrude Cameron of Chester Gap, operating a 65 Pontiac coupe, struck the side of a 65 Chevrolet station wagon operated by Frances Ann Brown of Front Royal. There were no injuries and damage was estimated at $75 to the Brown car. No charges were made by Trooper W.A. Buntin who investigated.
In the evening Friday at approximately 7:55 p.m. in Sperryville two vehicles collided and one failed to stop at the scene. Edward Dewayne Chapman of Portsmouth in a 70 Plymouth pulled onto the highway from a service station and struck the side of a 70 Maverick operated by Danny Joe Craft of Anderson, W. Va. Chapman failed to stop at the scene and was later apprehended and charged with hit and run property damage. According to Trooper Buntin, damage was estimated at $150 and $75 to the Craft car and Chapman car, respectively.
