On the 14 th at 6 p.m. at Huntly a 55 Dodge apparently stalled on the road and was being pushed on Route 522 when it was struck by another vehicle. Samuel Bud Wines of Chester Gap driving a 62 Chevrolet struck the Dodge which was registered to James Williams of Amissville. The Dodge was declared a total loss arid damage to the Wines car was estimated at $350. According to Trooper Buntin the investigation is continuing and charges pending.

At a meeting of the Washington Volunteer Fire Company and Rappahannock Rescue Squad held Monday, December 8 at the Fire House the following officers were elected: President, George (Billy) Alther; Vice-President, Jonas Alther; Secretary and Treasurer, re-elected, Bertha M. Armel; Fire Chief, Ennis Jenkins; ^Ass’t Fire Chief, Bruce Critzer; Engineers, Harold Estes and Steve Bailey; Additional Directors, William Hargett and Harold Estes; Captain of Rescue Squad, Harold Estes. Mrs. Bertha Armel was named Life-long Honorary Captain of Rescue Squad.
